ABOUT US

We are an inclusive, FUN-loving community of bad ass women that LOVE to dance

At That’s My Jam Dance we wine our waistline, ham on hairography, pop our booty's, POWER pose and shimmy our titties.

We teach styles in hip hop, dancehall, booty work and heels dance.

We dance strong, sexy, sassy.

We celebrate the diversity in our skill, age, bodies and personalities and come together without judgement to do what we do best, DANCE!

We are an ego free space where we show up for our own self care and nourishment.

We dance for how it makes us FEEL rather than how we LOOK.

We believe in the POWER of leaving our comfort zone.

queen kYla

Kyla Blacksmith is an experienced and passionate dance teacher specializing in sharing fun and soulful womens dance classes. With over 30 years of dance training and 7 years of teaching experience, Kyla has honed her skills and expertise to empower women through the art of dance.

Kyla’s love for dance blossomed from a young age, beginning with Ballet and Jazz in her hometown of Somerset West, South Africa. Her dance infatuation deepened over the years particularly after discovering Hip Hop and training with outstanding teachers. Now she adores sharing various dance styles all with the core value of making women feel lit up and having a love for the skin they’re in.

Kyla’s passion for inclusivity, body acceptance, growing confidence and creating community has led her to the creation of That’s My Jams Dance Program. With an energetic and encouraging approach she deeply values sharing her weekly classes with her ever growing dance community.

“Dance is the pinnacle of my existence, my oxygen and great love. I feel honoured to hold space for women and help them fall in love with moving their bodies. The greatest importance to me is that everyone feels welcome, has a space to play and walks out feeling juicier than ever.
